The Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster played a prominent role in the first official economic-diplomatic delegation of the Republic of Croatia during the official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, led by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia and Minister Gordan Grlić Radman.
Thanks to the high-quality coordination between the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster, meetings were held in Hanoi at the highest institutional level, including meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, General Phan Văn Giang, as well as the Minister of Public Security, General Lương Tam Quang. During these meetings, concrete opportunities for developing cooperation in the field of the defence industry, knowledge transfer, and long-term partnership between Croatian and Vietnamese institutions and industrial entities were discussed.
The President of HKKOI, Goran Basarac, presented the potential of the Croatian defence industry, as well as the production and technological capacities of domestic companies capable of meeting the specific requirements of the Vietnamese market. Special emphasis was placed on members and partners from the defence sector whose products and solutions have already attracted the interest of end users in Southeast Asia.
As part of the official economic delegation of the Republic of Croatia, alongside the Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster, leading Croatian companies from the defence and security industry also participated — Agencija Alan d.o.o., HS Produkt, DOK-ING, Shadow Nautics, and Geolux – Hydromet instruments and early warning systems — further confirming the competitiveness and international recognition of the Croatian defence sector.
The participation of the Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster in international activities of this kind confirms its important role in the economic diplomacy of the Republic of Croatia, as well as in connecting domestic industry with global partners and new markets. It is precisely through institutional cooperation and the coordinated presence of Croatian manufacturers that the conditions are being created for the long-term positioning of the Croatian defence industry on the Southeast Asian market and for opening new business opportunities for the entire Croatian defence-industrial sector.
Such bilateral meetings and institutional partnerships further contribute to strengthening economic relations, exchanging experience and technologies, and creating new opportunities for the Croatian defence industry, which, through the activities of the Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster, is increasingly confirming its presence and competitiveness on the international market.
