The Defense Industry Cluster attended a joint meeting of the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP) Defence Industry Coordination.

The President of CDICC and the CEO of the Alan Agency, Goran Basarac, participated in a joint meeting of the HUP Defense Industry Coordination with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and the Minister of Defense. The meeting was held with a wider circle of manufacturers, together with representatives of HBOR, and discussed the challenges and opportunities for the development of the domestic defense industry as part of the ReArm Europe plan. The main topic was the development and strengthening of the Croatian defense industry, as well as the empowerment of the Croatian Army, with a focus on connecting all segments of society, especially domestic companies, utilizing national knowledge and experience in the defense industry to strengthen national production and domestic products, and continuing with the modernization of the Croatian Army.

All participants in the meeting agreed that importance should be given to repositioning Croatia within the new ReArm project at the European Union level, initiating dialogue to strengthen and invest in the national military and defense industry, which would in turn create more jobs in industries with higher added value, such as the defense industry, considering the current geopolitical situation. They collectively concluded that strengthening the domestic defense industry is crucial not only for national security but also for economic growth and technological development.
